The Fountain Pub Eaton Bray

This photo shows the Fountain Pub to the left. Looking from the Church end of the
High St. The sign of the Bedford Arms Pub (Now the Roebuck Garage) can just
be seen in the distance. The Fountain Pub was named after its owner, who decided
to open his own pub after being banned from several others in the village. In those
days there were no licensing laws, and anyone could turn their home into a public
house. The ales and port were supplied by Ivinghoe Brewery.
